Adapting in a Time of Change: Our Students Know How to Make Lemonade!
Uncertain times and unforeseeable barriers make for innovative design and an opportunity to grow. Our hard-working class of 2020 is a testament to this philosophy. After weeks of planning our usual year-end design event in Abbotsford this semester, the students and faculty of the GDD department were faced with the hard truth of its inevitable cancellation. Did this stop the design team from pulling together and taking a new direction? Definitely not! The enthusiasm to switch gears to an entirely online presentation was exciting for us, and design team leaders Paige Elliot and Aron McKague took the opportunity to redesign and implement a new strategy with animation social media, and a fresh take on our usual grad class website design.
