AIME'S CAKES & COOKIE

Aime's Cakes and Cookies was a passion project created for a family in memory of their grandmother, Aime. It gathers together her favourite recipes collected over her life, some from her Estonian heritage, some from her life in Sweden, and the rest from her home kitchen in East Vancouver Canada.

The use of patterns throughout the book was inspired by Estonian and Swedish floral pattern design. The flowers chosen for the design came from Aime’s home garden. Each pattern corresponds with one of the three sections of the cookbook. Cornflowers represent the breads section, Hydrangeas the cookies, and Tulips the cakes & sweets section.

YOUR BACKYARD JOURNAL

Building admiration for nature is difficult, especially when adults have no personal connection to its benefits. Nature can serve as inspiration as well as a sanctuary from regular life; it’s positive impacts on mental and physical health shouldn’t be ignored. This project seeks the possibility of strengthening wildlife admiration in children in hopes to inspire a lasting appreciation for the outdoors so they learn to both care for the environment as well as experience it’s therapeutic qualities.

STONE'S THROW COTTAGE

Stone’s Throw Cottage is a rental property that has difficultly booking in the offseason. The rebranding embraces the peaceful and earthly qualities of the location in the cooler months. To reflect the surrounding mountains and calmness of the cottage, the brand uses a deep blue. The mark reflects the lichen that grows in abundance through the local forest; it can be found on every tree and is a great indicator of the pure air quality.
