RENAISSANCE BC
Renaissance BC is a brand identity designed for BC's Renaissance Festival which was last held in 2016. Renaissance festivals celebrate the Renaissance era by recreating the fashion, food, music, and so on. While some attendees like to immerse themselves in history, a lot of folks like to indulge their fantasies of fairies, mermaids, pirates, and more.
The Renaissance BC logo is a combination of custom lettering, inspired by Renaissance era calligraphy, and a crest with the setting sun, inspired by the official flag of British Columbia. It is a versatile logo that can be used in both print and web applications, while still invoking a sense of nostalgia for the time period.
INVOLVE ABBOTSFORD SYMPOSIUM
Involve Abbotsford is a yearly conference that supports and fosters the robust and innovative arts, non-profit sector, and local sports organizations by providing relevant information and training to help build on the foundation of service that benefits the quality of life for all residents of Abbotsford.
The visual identity for this conference was conceptualized based on the idea of micro-communities intertwining with each other and having a "ripple" effect. The purpose of the conference is to support those communities and create opportunities for them to build stronger connections with each other.
HOW TO BE AN ALLY
This booklet was designed to be an informative guide for those wanting to increase their allyship with the LGBTQ+ community. The visual identity is based on the concept of two waveforms amplifying each other when they intersect in synchronicity. It reflects the idea of aligning oneself's with the LGBTQ+ community as an ally, and therefore amplifying the voices of the marginalized.
